Review by hotel critic
During my recent visit to Dar Michele, I had a rather pleasant yet mixed experience, which prompted me to reflect on the value proposition of this hotel. Nestled conveniently near the souk, its location is certainly a highlight, making it an ideal spot for those wanting to explore the lively market atmosphere. The traditional rooms are well-appointed, with comfortable beds and effective air conditioning-an essential after a long day of wandering. I particularly appreciated the enclosed terrace, which offered a peaceful place to unwind. I encountered some payment-related hiccups with Madame Hansa, though in the end, we reached an amicable solution. A noteworthy feature was the delicious homemade jams served at breakfast, which paired wonderfully with the service from Olfa, who was always eager to assist. While the swimming pool was a lovely touch, the lack of adequate lighting on the street leading to the hotel was a concern for late-night returns. While Dar Michele has its quirks, the blend of comfort and convenient amenities, like Wi-Fi and the option for shared kitchen use, suggests it provides reasonable value for its price point, particularly for those keen on immersing themselves in local culture.
